Meet the Teacher
2nd Grade Homeroom & AM Extended Student Services (ESS)
B.A. in Elementary Education, Central Washington University
Joanne has been working at St Paul for many years. She started her career as a substitute at St. Paul and other schools in 1992 and continued for the next two years. In 1994 she was hired at All Saints and for the next three years taught kindergarten at the St. Martin of Tours/Fife Campus. In 1997 she returned to St. Paul and was hired as a kindergarten aide/middle school reading teacher. In 1998 she started as the third grade teacher and continued in that position for three years.
In 2001 she went to work in the Kent School District teaching third and fourth grades. In 2002 St. Paul lured her back as a substitute for the next two years. In 2004 she was hired as the pre-kindergarten aide and held that position for the next four years. In 2008 to the present she has been a primary aide. In 2019 she was placed in the second grade class as the homeroom teacher.
“When I am not at work I enjoy taking long walks on Alki, watching the wildlife and marine traffic from my yard, and visiting San Juan Island in the summers. My hobbies include folding origami, diamond painting, adult coloring books, and watching Netflix.”
